The United Kingdom based company Reavell Compressors was founded in 1898 by Sir William Reavell and has an inspiring tradition. Based in Ipswich, the company was taken over in 1969 by compare and the newly named company, CompAir Reavell, has recently moved its production and office facilities from the old Ranelagh Road facility to a new 110,000 square metre site to the Landmark Business Park in White House Industrial Estate, Ipswich. Compare Reavell Compressors was sold to the directors in 2002. The high pressure division ha seen a 50% growth since 2002.

The new site is equipped with the very latest hi-tech equipment, the development shop being acoustically enclosed and air conditioned to 60°C thereby reproducing field operating conditions. The main test area is also acoustically enclosed and contains 14 test stands ranging from 22 to 150kW with both 50 and 60Hz capability. The oil recycling plant has six air-cooled 110kW radiators to provide cooling, enabling Reavell Compressors to re-circulate the cooling water used in the test shop.
